Beacon, N.Y. - On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 11:00am – 1:00pm, Bannerman Castle Trust (BCT) Executive Director Neil Caplan invites members of the press and friends and associates from other arts and cultural organizations to join him for a cruise, Spring press tour, and luncheon on Bannerman Island, a New York State Park in the Hudson River Highlands.
For over 31 years the BCT has continued its mission to raise funds for restoration projects and trail work on Bannerman Island, while also presenting artistic programming on the historic island for people of all ages. As with all public tours, attendees will board the BCT's tour boat, the MV Estuary Steward on Tuesday, April 28th at 11:00am at the Beacon Dock located at 2 Red Flynn Drive, directly across from the Metro-North Beacon Train Station. The boat will return to Beacon at 1:00pm.
Upon arrival at Bannerman Island, attendees will be given a short tour of the island’s castle, museum, gardens and trails with professional tour guides. The tour will be followed by a complimentary lunch provided by Beacon Quality Eats on Main Street in Beacon where attendees will briefed on upcoming events and productions including the BCT's popular Titanic Dinner and Chef's Farm to Table Dinner events, theater events DRACULA: The Journal of Jonathan Harker by Jim Helsinger, which will be presented on the island in the fall, first time event EPIC BROADWAY, scheduled this summer and much more. Special guest Will Reynolds, Musical Director and Broadway in Beacon Producer will speak about his production Epic Broadway!
Choreographer, Director and Dancer Skyla Schreter will introduce her upcoming dance project “The Flock” funded by a NYSCA artist grant and Artist Kathleen Griffin will update us on her sculptural art installation “The Butterflies of Memory” to be installed on Bannerman Island during the coming year.
A Q & A about exciting upcoming 2026 projects and programs including all theater events, concerts, movie nights, environmental programs, art events and special fundraising dinners will complete the tour. Guests will also be updated about Bannerman Island news, including new information on grants designated for upcoming restoration and projects made possible by EPF grants from New York State Parks, Parks & Trails NY and other donors.
