Toni_Nastasi_The Coming NightGlens Falls, N.Y. - The Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC) proudly presents works by painter Toni Nastasi and ceramicist Ava Tesoriero in Show II: The Moon Doesn’t Mind, February 27 through April 1. The opening reception takes place on Friday, February 27, 5-7pm; all are invited to meet these accomplished young contemporary artists and celebrate their work.

This compelling exhibit pairs Toni’s largescale oil paintings on the walls and Ava’s masterful ceramic work throughout the gallery, showcasing each artist’s unique vision and exploration of their chosen medium. LARAC will host an Artist Talk on Friday, March 13, 5pm, offering the public the opportunity to learn more about the artists, their artistic practice and inspiration. This drop-in event is free and open to the public as well.

Toni Nastasi is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of loss and memory, perception and awareness, fleeting moments and permanence. For this exhibit, she will display a collection of large richly layered oil paintings while representational, are also surreal and dreamlike. Toni Nastasi grew up within the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and received her BFA in painting from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2017. In addition to being a working and exhibiting artist, Toni works within her local creative community as an art educator at The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, NY.

Ava Tesoriero is a ceramic artist whose award-winning work has been exhibited all over the country, demonstrating a mastery of medium and experience that defies her young age. Her highly finessed ceramic works are not simply vessels but fully imagined conceptual forms that blend form and function, transforming the vessel from a static sculpture into an experience for viewers. The artist received a BS in Studio Art, with a concentration in Ceramics from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY just this past year. In addition to her own professional work as a ceramic artist, she is an instructor and gallery assistant at Saratoga Clay Arts Center in Schuylerville, NY.

Located at 7 Lapham Place in downtown Glens Falls, NY, LARAC’s Lapham Gallery is open Monday-Saturday 10-3, Thursdays to 6pm. To learn more, visit larac.org.
