Shop Local, Shop Creative
Saratoga Springs, NY – Kickoff the holiday season in the Saratoga Springs Arts District on Beekman Street. On Saturday, November 29, this local arts corridor will come alive as artists, makers, and independent businesses open their doors with exclusive offerings and uniquely crafted gifts perfect for the holiday season.
Located 4 blocks west of Broadway on Saratoga Springs’ historic West Side, the Beekman Street Arts District is known for its eclectic mix of galleries, studios and service organizations, all committed to supporting small businesses and fostering local artistic talent.
Most Beekman Street businesses will be open and all decked out for Shop Small Saturday. Local shops will feature one-of-a-kind handmade goods and offering refreshments, sales, artist demos and special exhibits. Families, holiday shoppers, and art lovers are encouraged to stroll the district, meet local creators, and experience the community spirit that defines this historic neighborhood. Weather permitting, additional artists will be set up outside on the lawn at Textile Studio, on the corner of Beekman and Grand.
Be sure to stop by 79 Beekman Street to view Kelly Jean Smith’s exhibit “A Brush With Magical Realism” a new series of oil paintings made possible by a 2025 Saratoga Arts Regrant which explores narrative illustration, the singular female image, and the space between joy and sorrow through expressive color and playful composition. The exhibit will open Friday, Nov. 28 at 4 pm. Kelly will give a gallery talk at 6 pm and the show will continue Sat, Nov 29 and Sunday Nov. 30, 10 am to 5 pm.
“Shopping small means investing directly in the creativity, passion, and craftsmanship of our community,” said Meg Dalton, President of the Saratoga Springs Arts District, Inc (SSADI). “Visitors will discover items they simply won’t find anywhere else—from hand-thrown pottery and custom jewelry to original artwork and artisanal home décor. With every purchase, shoppers directly support independent creators and contribute to the vibrancy of Saratoga Springs’ arts community.”
The shops on Beekman will also host Holiday Open Houses Saturdays and Sundays in December from 11 to 5 (shop hours may vary).
