Bronx, NY — The Bronx Night Market — the cultural powerhouse that launched the Bronx foodie revolution — will shut down this fall after eight unforgettable years. The market, which created a stage for dozens of POC-owned micro businesses in the Bronx and across New York City, will host its final three events at Fordham Plaza on August 30, September 27, and October 25.
Since 2017, the Bronx Night Market has evolved into more than just a market. It’s been a celebration of community, flavor, and resilience — drawing over one million visitors, supporting small businesses, and changing how New York City views the Bronx.
“People doubted it could work here. They doubted the Bronx. But the Bronx showed up and showed out,” said Marco Shalma, founder of MASC Hospitality Group. “This market belongs to the community that built it. We’re closing this chapter with love, and we’re getting ready for the next one.”
The farewell season promises to be a Bronx-sized celebration — bringing back old friends, great music, legacy vendors, and the kind of energy only Fordham Plaza can deliver. Expect the food, the sounds, and the memories that turned this market into a NYC institution.
The Bronx Night Market may be sunsetting at Fordham Plaza, but its impact will continue. In September, MASC Hospitality Group will announce a new, permanent Bronx-rooted project that builds on this legacy in a significantly larger way.
