Cape Vincent Arts CouncilCape Vincent, N.Y. – Art, gardens, and historic houses will be featured when the Cape Vincent Arts Council presents its “Plein Air Garden & House Tour” on Sunday, July 20, from 1:00-4:00 pm. The event is free (donations accepted) and begins at the Cape Vincent Community House, 127 E. Joseph St., where participants will receive maps and information for the self-guided tour and can proceed at their own pace.

Four distinctive Cape Vincent houses and their gardens will be featured on the tour (including two homes that visitors can enter and tour inside). In addition, artists will be set up at each location, creating paintings “en plein air” (in the open air) for visitors to observe. Paintings will also be on display at the Community House and available for purchase. The plein air technique allows artists to capture the changing details of weather and light in natural surroundings while creating a finished painting.

The Cape Vincent Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization consisting entirely of volunteers. It is dedicated to providing opportunities for the public to enjoy and participate in cultural activities in and around Cape Vincent. Among the events it sponsors are the Concerts on the Green series, the Stroll on Broadway, the Riverside Music & Arts Festival, summer art classes, author presentations, art exhibitions, and the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition for Young People (Sept. 5-7, 2025).
