Yonkers, NY (October 18, 2024)—Celebrate Halloweekend and Día de Muertos at the Hudson River Museum this season, with family-friendly programs and activities over two weekends. On Saturday & Sunday, October 26 & 27, 11am–5pm, Halloweekend, one of our favorite events of the year, will feature Creepy Crawly Critters with the Greenburgh Nature Center, tours of our haunted historic home on a Gothic Glenview Tour, and spooky planetarium shows The Sky Tonight: Night Frights. Plus, create a Spooky Silhouette in our Family Art Workshop and join our costume parade to win special prizes! Come in costume and receive candy throughout the weekend.
Then, come celebrate Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, on Saturday & Sunday, November 2 & 3, 12–4pm. This special holiday is meant to celebrate death and life, when mourning is transformed into celebration. Participate in our community altar, or ofrenda, all weekend by bringing photos of departed loved ones. Plus, create your own Cempasúchils, or Mexican Marigolds, in an art workshop.

DÍA DE MUERTOS
Saturday & Sunday, November 2 & 3, 12–4pm
Día de Muertos is a special holiday meant to celebrate death and life, when, unlike any other holiday, mourning is transformed into celebration. Celebrate Día de Muertos at the HRM by making Cempasúchils, or Mexican Marigolds, in an art workshop. Leave it on our community altar or take it home. Recommended for ages 6+.
In addition to the Cempasúchils, we invite you to participate in our community altar by brining photos of your departed loved ones to place on the ofrenda, which will be on view all weekend. We recommend bringing copies of the pictures instead of originals. If you are unable to do so in person, you may email a photo to Pedro Betanzos at pbetanzos@hrm.org.
