CNY Pride2018Syracuse, N.Y. -- Three Syracuse staples have joined together this year to raise awareness for the LGBTQ community by partnering with CNY Pride and Syracuse Guerilla Gay Bar. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, 1911 Established and The Great New York State Fair will be putting on an event June 14th during Pride Week to help raise money for this cause. The 2018 CNY Pride Week runs June 11-16th.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que will host a Pride Meat Up event Thursday June 14th from 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM in their upstairs room. This happy hour will feature food, drinks, raffles and more. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que will be slinging their signature pulled pork sliders and 1911 will be selling their hard cider. Proceeds from both the sliders and hard cider will go to benefit CNY Pride. “Dinosaur Bar-B-Que has always been a place where everyone can rub elbows, eat good food and be themselves. We are excited to team up other CNY organizations to help raise money and bring awareness to the LGBTQ Community!” Susi Stein, Managing Partner at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.

In addition to food and drinks, Live Nation has donated four tickets to Janet Jackson July 18th and four tickets to Pentatonix August 23rd at the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview! The Great New York State Fair will also be present handing out free tickets to the official 2018 Pride Day on August 24th. "We work hard every year to make sure that every New Yorker, regardless of race, class, gender, ability or sexual identity, gets to enjoy a day of great food and fun. We're thrilled to partner with our friends at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and 1911 in making sure that LGBTQ people know that this is their Fair, too," said Troy Waffner, Acting Fair Director. Four years ago, the NYS Fair became the first state fair in America to hold an official Pride Day to celebrate LGBTQ patrons.

On June 16th join CNY Pride at the Inner Harbor for a parade and festival from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM for a variety of food, vendors, entertainment and live music from The Spring Street Family band at 1pm sponsored by Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. “CNY Pride is pleased to welcome Dinosaur Bar-B-Que as a sponsor for Pride Week. Pride Week has been happening for over 10 years in Syracuse and it is an honor to have new businesses join us to help raise awareness for Pride Week.” Said CNY Pride President Bob Forbes. Starting at 4:00 PM Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and 1911 will host the Syracuse Guerilla Gay Bar Post Party in the Boneyard. “Syracuse Guerrilla Gay Bar, a new queer networking event, is taking Central New York by storm. The idea is simple. Every month the organizers choose a date and tells everyone to mark their calendar. Then at 2pm on the day of the event, we announce the venue -- a local unsuspecting bar or restaurant. Then we show up... by the hundreds! Designed to promote LGBTQ visibility in our region, this event started as a casual call out on social media and has taken on a big, beautiful, sparkly life of its own. And we're just getting started. With partnerships like Dinosaur Bar-B-Que and 1911, we're tinkering with some new ideas to up our game and show the world that Syracuse is a thriving and welcoming location for LGBTQ people.” said Tanner Efinger, one of the founders of Syracuse Guerilla Gay Bar.

The party will feature live music, food and 1911 on tap. "I first heard about Guerrilla Gay Bar in March, and immediately wanted to know more! 150 people randomly showing up to a bar, with no notice, having a ton of fun...the spontaneity was magnetic. People that are putting themselves out there, who are innovate and passionate, are exactly the kind of people we want to be working with. We are honored and excited to be partnering with Dinosaur BBQ, The Great New York State Fair, Guerrilla Gay Bar and CNY Pride. We really care about our community, and any opportunity we can work with other local innovative businesses and organizations." Katie Meehan, Director of Marketing at 1911 Established.
