The Dumbo Concierge“The Dumbo Concierge” is built by Dumbo start-up Pull.City for the Dumbo Business Improvement District

Brooklyn, NY (February 10, 2026)  Team Dumbo (the Dumbo Business Improvement District) today announced the launch of Dumbo Concierge, a new AI-powered neighborhood guide designed to help businesses, residents, and visitors discover everything Dumbo has to offer. Developed in collaboration with Pull.City, a Dumbo-based technology startup, Dumbo Concierge is available now at https://dumbo.nyc/askdumbo.

Dumbo Concierge is the first human-centered, community-managed AI directory created for a New York City neighborhood, offering a new model for how local economies can be discovered online and on their own terms.

Unlike traditional search engines or generic AI tools, Dumbo Concierge is trained on knowledge directly contributed and maintained by Dumbo’s own businesses, organizations, community members, and local experts. Users can ask questions such as “Where can I take an art class?”, “Is there a Japanese bakery in Dumbo?”, “What’s a good snow day activity for my kid?”, or “Who has a great happy hour in the neighborhood?” and receive thoughtful, written responses alongside relevant businesses, services, events, and special offers. Local office tenants can also make a listing on a B2B version of Dumbo Concierge, which helps connect local makers and creators with one another.

Behind the scenes, Pull.City’s platform combines community-specific data, local workflows, and curated knowledge with advanced AI models to deliver accurate, trusted answers–without relying on scraped or unverified content from the open web. The result is an experience that feels less like searching a database and more like asking a well-connected local who knows the neighborhood inside and out.

"This is a very cool way to make sure AI supports our sense of community - instead of replacing it. Just starting a new job in Dumbo? Move here recently? Here’s a way to discover the neighborhood’s many gems through the voices and expertise of the businesses and community members who make it special,” says Alexandria Sica, Team Dumbo president.

Pull.City builds official AI deployments for individual neighborhoods, designed to operate under local governance and data stewardship. Each deployment, including Dumbo Concierge, is customized to reflect a community’s priorities, values, and economic goals. Users can scan a QR code, ask a question on their phone, and get answers sourced from a database that is owned, curated, and updated by the neighborhood itself.

"This is the AI we all want: curated, authentic, and trusted,” added Sica. “It’s not the big-box-store version of AI. It’s your favorite bartender, shop owner, or gallery director giving you the insider tips you didn’t know you needed.”

Pull.City’s approach is rooted in a simple principle: specialization outperforms generalization. By focusing on a single place and its real-world context, Dumbo Concierge delivers more relevant results while ensuring that discovery drives attention and economic value back to local businesses rather than extracting it to big tech.

"For years, neighborhoods have had to accept digital systems that were never designed for them,” said Elizabeth Brown, co-founder of Pull.City. “Community-controlled AI flips that dynamic. By combining specialized models, local governance, and intentional data use, districts can create discovery tools that are more sustainable, more transparent, and fundamentally aligned with how local economies actually work.”

Today, Dumbo is home to 225+ small businesses, over 20 cultural organizations, and over a hundred annual events, drawing millions of visitors each year. Dumbo Concierge creates a single, trusted entry point to navigate that richness, whether someone is building their life or business here, or just visiting for the afternoon.
