Edgemere Farm Works Presents Domingo World
Far Rockaway, Queens, NY - In its third year, Domingo World is an annual art, music, and performance series at Edgemere Farm in Far Rockaway, Queens. Curated by artists and community organizers Giovanni Fernandez-Kincade and m i c c a, and presented by the recently-established arts and education nonprofit Edgemere Farm Works, it’s a platform for artists to develop and present work outside the confines of the industrial-art complex, in a historically underserved community of New York City.
Domingo World 2025 continues August 10th with our final event of the season. This month’s creative harvest brings latin rhythms, curated ambient sounds, photography of world travels rich in the vastness of a moment, and site-specific textile-driven dance performance.
The event offers three live performances as well as a photography installation dispersed within the vegetation of Edgemere Farm. Photographer Magera Moon brings us Mundo y Maravilla, a collection of photographs taken across continents and over decades that offers viewers a sense of pure presence and a momentary glimpse into the divine.
The performances of dance artist (VACA) Valentina Baché Rodríguez, who hand-makes their costumes from repurposed fabrics, explores ancestral memory, transformation, and emotional truth. The day will be woven together by the sounds of Russell Ellington Langston Butler with an open format dj/live hybrid set of summery music and ambient textures, and a set from BATACA.
Domingo World featuring music and performance by Russell E. L. Butler, (VACA) Valentina Bache, BATACA, and a photographic installation by Magera Moon.

At Domingo World, there are no rules, there are no white walls, there is no “sound guy,” there is no stage. There’s mulch, dirt, flowers, compost, chickens. It’s the open air, an open invitation to play and explore, blocks from both the ocean and the A train. For the community, it’s an opportunity to see creativity take root alongside the natural world. We can’t always tell you exactly what Domingo World will be, but we can tell you that it won’t be what you expect.
August 10th brings two musical acts, a dance performance, and a site-specific photography installation:
Russell Ellington Langston Butler is a Black artist from Bermuda, living and working in New York City. Russell has painstakingly cultivated a unique artistic expression that integrates and investigates themes around process, technological innovation, the archive, and confrontation. Their works have taken the form of vinyl records, digital audio releases, live A/V performances, and special archiving projects.
Valentina Baché Rodríguez (they/them) is a NYC-based artist from Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Their work explores ancestral memory, transformation, and emotional truth. A 2024 Gallim Moving Artist, they’ve presented at venues like Judson Church and Triskelion among many more. Valentina centers joy, rage, and honesty through movement, pedagogy, and embodied resilience.
Magera Moon Holton is an artist, photographer, and designer originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico but long-since a Rockaway local. She makes handmade clothing for herself and her chihuahua Mimi, furniture that fits perfectly in the tiny bungalow she shares with her husband, and lately she’s been meticulously crafting a typeface inspired by a restaurant from the 1960s. Mundo y Maravilla is a collection of photographs from Magera’s travels across the globe. Across decades and continents, Magera captures moments that offer us as viewers a sense of pure presence, a momentary glimpse into the divine in the eyes of a smiling child through a dusty car window. The work is infused with a sense of awe and wonder, as if to ask, can this world really be so vast? Can each moment really offer us so much?
Food by Amped Panadas and refreshments will be available for purchase. Portable toilet on-site. Seating is available but limited and attendees are encouraged to use sunscreen, wear a hat, and bring a blanket. Guests are also invited to bring their own cups and help support the farm’s sustainability mission.
About Edgemere Farm: Established in the wake of 2012’s Superstorm Sandy, Edgemere Farm is a volunteer-run urban farm that provides the surrounding Far Rockaway area with a safe community space and access to fresh produce. We’ve since expanded our mission by establishing the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Edgemere Farm Works, an organization dedicated to providing educational, agricultural, musical, and cultural programming to the historically underserved and environmentally disadvantaged neighborhood of Edgemere, Queens, and the Rockaway Peninsula at large. For many years running, we have maintained an annual program of cultural events and educational workshops that we host at Edgemere Farm each summer, which are always completely open, accessible, and free to the public.
About Domingo World: Domingo World is made possible by the generous support of NYC Parks, GreenThumb, Partnerships for Parks, the City Parks Foundation, Flushing Town Hall, New York State Council on the Arts, New York Foundation for the Arts, Far Rockaway Arverne Nonprofit Coalition, the Fund for the City of New York, Rockaway Brewing Company, and ROCKAWAY Soda.
