Ticonderoga, N.Y. -- Step back 250 years into the heart of the American Revolution this winter! Fort Ticonderoga is rolling out its "Winter Quarters" season (through April) with a powerhouse lineup of immersive living history events, virtual programming, premium behind-the-scenes tours, and hands-on workshops, all under the banner of its multi-year REAL TIME REVOLUTION® 250th commemoration.
Winter Quarters Highlights: Experience the Revolution with REAL TIME REVOLUTION® Living History Events
Visitors can experience the daily struggles and strategic operations of the Continental Army exactly 250 years later:

February 7: The Precarious Garrison: Discover how a small New York garrison maintained the fort through the brutal Ticonderoga winter.

March 28: Proceed to Canada: Step into Ticonderoga as a supply hub for the Northern Department of the Continental Army, keeping soldiers alive in Canada.

April 11: Emissaries to Canada: Examine the tenuous American situation in Canada in April 1776. Meet Benjamin Franklin and the special committee from the Continental Congress that passed through Ticonderoga on their way north.

Virtual Author Series (Select Sundays, 2-3 pm ET): Featuring authors discussing new books on Revolutionary War figures like Daniel Morgan and Richard Montgomery.

Virtual Fort Fever Series (Select Wednesdays, 7-8 pm ET): Fort Ticonderoga Museum Staff share cutting-edge research and discoveries.
Group Visits (15+): Groups can schedule a visit and have the entire property and a dedicated historic interpreter to themselves for a specialized, in-depth tour. Youth teambuilding opportunities are also available by inquiry.
Knox on the Trail - Upcoming Community Programming:
Follow Fort Ticonderoga as we chronicle Henry Knox's Noble Train of Artillery along its route to the Siege of Boston in REAL TIME this winter. Our premier living history team, with cannons and objects, copied from our Museum Collections, will be joining communities, museums, and historic sites along the route of the Noble Train of Artillery to tell this incredible story during the 250th Anniversary of one of our signature stories.

January 31- February 1 - Sturbridge MA | “Knox’s Train of Artillery” In partnership with Old Sturbridge Village, Fort Ticonderoga will look back on the Noble Train of Artillery and its memory in eastern Massachusetts. As part of our REAL TIME REVOLUTION® approach to 250th Anniversaries, our team will highlight the work to equip cannons from the Noble Train with the carriages they needed for service. Visitors can explore the work of artificers in preparing cannons for battle, as well as the work of draught animals and soldiers to move and lift these big guns.

February 21 - Lincoln, MA | “To Break The Siege: The Noble Train Arrives” This REAL TIME REVOLUTION® program at Minuteman National Historic Park will recreate the arrival and mounting of cannons from the Noble Train as the Continental Army prepared to employ these guns on Dorchester Heights. Discover the on-going service to continue the Siege of Boston through the winter. Examine the artillery laboratory work to prepare ammunition and the artificers’ crafts to outfit cannons with essential implements. With oxen and vehicles, feel the sense of urgency to finally drive the British from Boston with guns from Ticonderoga.

March 17 - Boston, MA | 250th Anniversary of Evacuation Day Working with Revolution250, Fort Ticonderoga’s educators, oxen, & reproduction cannons will participate in the procession to Dorchester Heights National Historic Park. Fort Ticonderoga will bring to life the artillery crews that manned the batteries overlooking Boston harbor. Visitors will examine reproduction artillery ammunition and instruments to understand the science that underpinned this military triumph that began within the walls of Fort Ticonderoga.

A Cornerstone of America 250 at Fort Ticonderoga REAL TIME REVOLUTION® is a unique multi-year campaign and a central part of its America 250 commemoration.
