Fort William Henry MuseumLake George, NY — This Fall Fort William Henry, inviting visitors to step into the shadows with the debut of Fort Fright, a new haunted house experience that brings the Fort’s real history, legends and darker stories to life after dark.

Running select evenings from September 24 through October 24, Fort Fright will transform the historic Lake George landmark into an immersive haunted experience where history and horror collide. Guests will journey through transformed rooms and shadowed spaces filled with ominous lighting, immersive sound, fog, atmospheric effects and live scare actors.

Unlike a traditional haunted house, Fort Fright draws inspiration from the Fort’s own history and architecture, creating an experience rooted in the stories, legends and events that have made Fort William Henry one of the region’s most intriguing historic sites.

The experience extends beyond the haunted walkthrough. Before or after entering Fort Fright, guests can gather around the fire in the Fort’s Courtyard, where seasonal treats, warm cider, donuts, s’mores and drinks will be available for purchase. The Courtyard will offer a place to relax with friends and enjoy the atmosphere of the season, whether or not guests choose to enter the haunted experience.

Fort Fright will also feature Mini Paranormal Investigations, available as an add-on or as a separate experience throughout the evening, giving guests another opportunity to explore the Fort’s haunted side.

Fort Fright will be open on select Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, with the Courtyard opening at approximately 5:30 p.m. Haunted experiences begin at 6 p.m.
