2024 Founder's Day LogoEast Nassau, N.Y. -- Step back in time and enjoy a day in pre-industrial America. Historic Eastfield Village, in East Nassau, NY, is celebrating its annual Founder’s Day Open House on Saturday, September 21 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is the one day of the year that the general public is invited to come and visit the privately-owned, recreated nineteenth century village. Admission is $20; children accompanied by an adult are free.

Guests can tour more than 20 historic structures and their furnishings, dating from 1789 to 1840. Master craftspeople, including a printer, tinsmith, blacksmith, cabinetmaker, potter, slate carver, spinner, weaver and more, will be demonstrating their skills and selling their wares.

Enjoy nineteenth century entertainments, including “Shape-note” Singing, a 19th C Magician, Music & Dancing and a “Punch & Judy” Puppet Show. Other attractions include a display of 19th C. Textiles and a dramatic demonstration of rare lamps and period lighting. 

Patrons can enjoy tea and sweets or a hearty lunch available for sale at the Briggs Tavern, and can shop for handcrafted items and antiques.
