Slate Valley MuseumGranville, NY - The Slate Valley Museum will continue its year-long exploration of slate and recreation at its next free festival on Saturday, September 5 from 10am to 4pm. The theme of the event is “Trails & Wellness,” and includes a full day of family friendly activities and time to explore the museum. Trails & Wellness Day is focused on movement, outdoor activity, health, and wellness opportunities connected to slate and the Slate Valley.

Activities include a trail and nature scavenger hunt, relaxing sheep walk, yoga (11am), a family-friendly slate fitness challenge (12pm & 2pm), and other hands-on wellness activities. Visitors can also visit the museum, explore its exhibits, listen to the new audio tour, and play an array of slate games (i.e. chess, checkers, etc).

Granville Youth Soccer will be onsite with their popular taco bar so that visitors can purchase lunch onsite and enjoy their meal along the Mettawee River.

Local partners will also be on hand during the day, including Slate Valley Nutrition and Tour de Slate, to share information about the resources they provide for the community.
