Friends of the Pruyn House logoColonie, N.Y. - The Friends of the Pruyn House, Colonie Town Supervisor Peter G. Crummey and the Colonie Town Board, are delighted to announce our Holiday Open House.  The Pruyn House will be open to the public for free tours and holiday fun on Friday, December 6th from10:00am – 6:00pm.  The House will be decorated for the holidays in the 1800’s style, courtesy of the Blue Creek Garden Club and the Friends of Pruyn House volunteers. 

Supervisor Peter G. Crummey said, “I am thrilled once again to be kicking off the holiday season at our historic Pruyn House with this festive event.  Special thanks to the Friends of the Pruyn House for coordinating and continuing to support our many family programs at our site.”

The Pruyn House will also be open on Saturday, December 7th from 10:00am – 3:00pm and will feature Sinterklaas from 10:30am – 12:00pm.  Stop by to enjoy the festive holiday spirit and of course, cookies, punch and hot chocolate!

The Blue Creek Garden Club will host their Holiday Arrangements & Greens Sale in the basement of the Pruyn House on Friday, December 6th from 10:00am – 6:00pm and on Saturday, December 7th from 9:00am – 3:00pm.

The Fort Orange Garden Club will host their Holiday Greens Sale in the Verdoy Schoolhouse on Friday, December 6th from 9:00am – 6:00pm – an early bird $5 donation will take place from 9:00am-noon and the proceeds will go towards the maintenance of the Pruyn House garden.  They will also be open on Saturday, December 7th from 9:00am – 3:00pm with no charge.

The mission of the Friends of Pruyn House, a not-for-profit community organization in partnership with the Town of Colonie, serving as the educational, historical and cultural center of the Town, is to restore, conserve and preserve the Pruyn House Complex.  It is the site for a wide variety of public, private, civic and corporate events throughout the year.
