Hudson, NY (August 13, 2025) - Hudson Hall at the historic Hudson Opera House is proud to present an exhibition of works by internationally acclaimed artist Christian Marclay, curated by Second Ward Foundation and drawn entirely from its collection. On view from August 23 through October 5, 2025, the exhibition opens with a free public reception on Saturday, August 23 from 5–7PM.

Christian Marclay’s inventive fusion of visual art and music takes center stage in this solo exhibition of video, photography, printmaking, and collage. Treating sound as a material, Marclay cuts, splices, stitches, and reassembles it into visual form. Album covers, vinyl records, and musical scores become playful and provocative reflections on music, pop culture, and the physical traces of sound.

An internationally recognized pioneer of sound and image, Marclay received the Golden Lion for Best Artist at the 2011 Venice Biennale. His work has been exhibited worldwide and features in the collections of major international institutions, including The Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, MOT Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, MACBA Museum of Contemporary Art of  Barcelona, Tate Modern, London, and Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, among others.

Organized by Second Ward Foundation. Christian Marclay is represented by Paula Cooper Gallery, New York, and White Cube, London.
