Frishkopf, to the HVEDC Board of Directors.

Klocke Estate is a pioneering 160-acre brandy distillery, regenerative-minded farm, and culinary destination located just outside of Hudson, New York. The estate is crafting American brandy and its unique Brevis vermouth by combining centuries-old European techniques with cutting-edge agricultural technology and a commitment to sustainability. Since opening in 2024, Klocke Estate has quickly become a regional destination and national leader in the emerging luxury craft beverage space.

Frishkopf, an MIT graduate, entrepreneur and financier, co-founded Klocke with the vision to create not only world-class spirits, but also a long-standing legacy of land stewardship, innovation, and community connection.

“We’re honored to join HVEDC and contribute to the incredible momentum of this region where businesses and brands have a long view to thrive for generations to come,” said John Frishkopf, Founder & CEO of Klocke Estate. “The Hudson Valley is a uniquely vibrant and fertile place — not just for growing apples and grapes, but for cultivating world-class beverages and experiences, all with community at the forefront.”

"We are thrilled to welcome Klocke Estate and John Frishkopf to the HVEDC Board of Directors. John's vision for Klocke — combining world-class craft beverage production with sustainable farming and hospitality is a perfect reflection of the Hudson Valley’s dynamic spirit. I encourage everyone to visit the estate and experience firsthand the quality and creativity that make our local spirits industry one of the best in the nation.”

Klocke Estate is deeply rooted in the Hudson Valley’s legacy and landscape. The region’s fertile soils, cool climate, and rich agricultural traditions, including its early Dutch brandy-making heritage — make it an ideal terroir for growing apples and grapes of exceptional character. From day one, Klocke has embraced this connection, working closely with local artisans, growers, and producers to shape every aspect of the estate — from heirloom varieties planted in the orchards and vineyards, to the locally sourced ingredients featured on the restaurant’s seasonal menu. This strong sense of place is at the heart of Klocke’s mission: to craft world-class spirits and hospitality experiences that honor the land, support the community, and elevate the region’s global profile.

Klocke Estate’s addition to the HVEDC Board reflects its commitment to regional collaboration, agricultural innovation, and dynamic growth. The team is honored to support HVEDC’s mission and contribute to elevating the Hudson Valley as a leader in industry, hospitality, and economic opportunity.

About Klocke Estate

Klocke Estate is pioneering a new era of American brandy. Spanning 160 acres of orchard, vineyard, and farmland in Hudson, NY, the luxury earth-to-glass distillery honors the rich traditions of European brandy-making while innovating through regenerative agriculture and artisanal craftsmanship.

The estate’s design was brought to life by renowned architecture firm BarlisWedlick, with interiors envisioned by AD100 designer Ken Fulk, creating a one-of-a-kind destination that blends elegance, sustainability, and heritage.

Klocke’s inaugural release, Brevis, features two exceptional estate-grown vermouths — a White and a Sweet Red — now available at the distillery and select retailers. The estate also produces limited-edition eau de vie, distilled from seasonal Hudson Valley fruit, and has recently introduced a line of small-batch, ready-to-drink cocktails crafted entirely from New York-grown ingredients, including its signature apple brandy and vermouths. Klocke’s flagship Brandy is currently aging in French Limousin oak barrels and will be released as it reaches maturity.

Klocke Estate offers immersive distillery tours and tastings Wednesday through Sunday from 12–9pm, and dinner service from 5–9pm, celebrating the region’s bounty with a refined, terroir-driven menu. The estate also features a stunning private event space on the second floor, offering sweeping views across the orchards, vineyards and valley — an ideal setting for intimate gatherings, special occasions, and corporate events. Visit Klocke Estate at 2554 County Route 27, Hudson, NY 12534.
