Rochester, NY — The Landmark Society of Western New York will host its highly anticipated 2026 House & Garden Tour on Saturday and Sunday, June 6–7, bringing visitors to the scenic and historic Charlotte Lakeside neighborhood for the first time in the event’s more than 50-year history.
A cherished tradition in the Rochester community, the annual tour showcases distinctive private homes and thoughtfully curated gardens while celebrating the region’s architectural and cultural heritage. This year’s event expands its scope with the addition of unique historic sites and exclusive access opportunities in the lakeside area. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour beautiful homes and gardens along Lake Ontario and the surrounding streets, while also enjoying docent-led explorations of notable community landmarks such as the “Secret Sidewalk,” Hose 22 Firehouse (exclusive upstairs access), and Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church. The tour will also feature exclusive access to the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse and the historic Dentzel Menagerie Carousel.
“The beauty and history of the Charlotte Lakeside area broadened our approach to this year's tour,” said Program Director Brandon W. Brooks. “The 2026 House & Garden Tour will offer an even wider variety of historic sites to explore in addition to houses and gardens.”
