Ferndale, NY (January 8, 2024) - The Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA) is thrilled to announce the addition of a new dove sculpture to its popular Dove Art Trail. With this unveiling, the trail will now feature over 70 unique dove sculptures, each hand-painted by a professional local artist.
The Dove Art Trail was first launched in 2019 as part of SCVA's effort to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock. The iconic music festival took place in Sullivan Catskills and is a significant event in the region's history. Through this trail, visitors can learn more about the area's cultural significance and celebrate its artistic community.
Since its launch, the Dove Art Trail has become a popular attraction for visitors from all over. People come with family and friends to explore the diverse collection of dove sculptures scattered throughout the Sullivan Catskills. The Doves are in various locations such as towns, villages, hamlets, and local businesses. Each dove represents the unique character and charm of the communities in Sullivan Catskills.
The new dove sculpture, #71, was painted by renowned local artist Keith Phillips. Keith is known for his exceptional artistic talent and has previously created several doves for the trail. His latest masterpiece will be located at the Domes at Catskills in Swan Lake, adding another must-see stop on the trail.
“We are thrilled to welcome a new addition to our beloved trail,” stated Roberta Byron-Lockwood, CEO of the SCVA! As our destination continues to expand and grow, it's exciting to see the true Sullivan Catskills experience being celebrated.”
The new addition to the Domes at Catskills, located in Swan Lake on Kelly Bridge Road, is set to open late Spring. Owner Jerry Feeney has carefully curated a unique glamping experience with decor sourced from all over the world.
Each Dome at this forested resort features its own private bathroom, kitchen, and sitting area for guests to enjoy. In addition to these amenities, every Dome also includes an outdoor woodfired caldron for a truly rustic experience.
Glamping, combines the luxury and comfort of a hotel stay with the natural setting and outdoor activities of camping. Glamping has been growing in popularity over the years, offering a unique way for travelers to connect with nature without sacrificing modern comforts.
The Domes at Catskills takes this concept to the next level with its carefully curated decor and thoughtful amenities. Rather than staying in a traditional tent, guests can experience the best of both worlds with a stay in these unique domes.
But it's not just about the accommodations - the location itself is something special. The Domes are nestled in the woods, providing a secluded and tranquil setting for guests to unwind and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. And with its prime location in Swan Lake, guests can also easily explore all that the beautiful Catskills region has to offer.
