Porter Airlines Offers up to 20% Flight Discount; over 85 NYC Hotels, Attractions, Broadway Shows and More Offering 30% Off
Canada Remains NYC’s Second-Largest International Market with 820,000 Visitors Forecasted in 2026
New York City (July 28, 2026) — New York City Tourism + Conventions today announced a summer travel incentive inviting Canadians to enjoy 30 percent off at participating tourism and hospitality businesses from August 18 through September 7, helping offset the currency exchange rate. NYC’s Northern Neighbour Deal features discounts at more than 85 hotels, Broadway shows, attractions, restaurants, museums and more, with reservations opening next Tuesday, August 4, at nyctourism.com/northernneighbour. In addition, Porter Airlines is offering up to 20 percent off all New York itineraries. Flights must be booked by August 7, for travel through December 15.
NYC Tourism + Conventions is focused on growing Canadian visitation and regaining market share as the City works to return this important international market to previous visitation levels. Canada remains New York City’s second-largest source of international visitation, with more than 800,000 visitors expected this year—a 3.1 percent increase over 2025.

By partnering with businesses across the City, we are reinforcing New York City’s value, variety and unmatched experiences for Canadian visitors.”

- 40+ hotels including: Ace Hotel Brooklyn; Hotel Indigo NYC Financial District; The Knickerbocker; Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel; Sofitel New York; Walker Hotels; Westin New York at Times Square; and more.
- Attractions, museums & tours: Barclays Center Arena Tours; City Cruises; Edge; Empire State Building Observation Deck; Intrepid Museum; Mercer Labs; New York Hall of Science; New York Yankees; NY Waterway Harbor Tours; Puttery; Untapped New York tours; and more.
- Broadway shows: Aladdin; The Book of Mormon; Buena Vista Social Club; Chicago; The Great Gatsby; Maybe Happy Ending; Stranger Things: The First Shadow; and Titaníque.

Porter Airlines operates up to 91 weekly flights to the New York City metropolitan area, serving LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. Earlier this month, landmarks across New York City lit up in red and white in celebration of cross-border friendship, business and cultural ties for Canada Day. On the evening of July 1, the following buildings and sites lit up in the colors of the Canadian flag: Empire State Building; Javits Center; Mercer Labs; The PHOENIX Family Thrill Roller Coaster at Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park; SUMMIT One Vanderbilt; and Weylin.
In 2025, New York City welcomed approximately 65 million visitors who generated $55.6 billion in direct visitor spending, underscoring the scale and importance of the sector.
