Magic Hour RooftopMagic Hour Rooftop, NYC’s largest indoor and outdoor rooftop, unveils its summer installation bringing nostalgia, campfires, and glamping to Times Square

New York, NY (May 19, 2026) – This summer, Magic Hour Rooftop—New York City’s largest all-season indoor and outdoor rooftop by TAO Hospitality Group—invites guests to trade the city streets for starlit skies with the debut of Camp Magic Hour. As the city heats up, the whimsical, nostalgia-fueled rooftop is the perfect escape set on the 18th floor of the Moxy Times Square, blending playful Americana with sweeping views of the Empire State Building and city skyline. The seasonal installation transforms the rooftop’s West Terrace into an elevated camp site where summer memories are reimagined through a New York lens.

Camp Magic Hour is an immersive playground tapping into the retro charm of summer camp. At the heart of the space, the venue’s iconic carousel is reimagined as a towering lifeguard stand, surrounded by nautical bunting, sun-faded life rings and lifeguard chairs. Near the entrance, a floor-to-ceiling camp memorabilia wall showcases vintage camp ephemera such as patches, hats and pennants, creating a tangible backdrop designed for social sharing.

On the terrace, guests can snap a photo in the oversized Adirondack chair or gather around the glowing fire pit, surrounded by folding camp chairs, vintage coolers, and overhead string lights that frame unobstructed views of the Empire State Building.

“Our seasonal installations are always a major moment for our guests, and Camp Magic Hour is one of our most playful concepts yet,” said Michael Marinoff, Vice President of F&B Operations for Tao Group Hospitality. “We’re seeing a strong return to nostalgia-driven experiences, so it felt like the perfect opportunity to reimagine summer camp for adults through the lens of Magic Hour.”

Complementing the experience, the rooftop introduces a limited-edition, camp-inspired menu that leans into indulgent, playful favorites. Dishes include multiple upscale varieties of the beloved Sloppy Joe like the OG Sloppy Joe with wagyu beef, chili, onions and swiss; the Buffalo Joe with buffalo chicken, celery slaw and blue cheese. Hot dogs will also be on the menu where guests can choose between the NYC Dog with sauerkraut, relish, cheese sauce, ketchup and mustard or the Millionaire Hot Dog with “The Only” Caviar and sour cream.

Desserts will feature Fried PB&J, evoking a fried PB&J with grape jelly and peanut butter cream; as well as interactive treats like the Fire Side S’mores, tableside s’mores with graham cracker, milk chocolate and toasted marshmallows; and The Big Dip, L’arte del Gelato Hand Dipped Ice Cream.

Served from the archery-themed bar, the cocktail program follows suit with inventive nods to childhood classics, featuring drinks like The Happy Camper, a summertime take on the espresso martini with Codigo 1530 Blanco tequila and vanilla bean ice cream; Camp Coolaide, a berry smash with Watchpost whiskey and High West Campfire; the Camp Crush with Codigo 1530 Blanco tequila with passionfruit sorbet and prosecco; the Lights Out Lemon Drop featuring Grey Goose Vodka, Triple Sec, and Lemon; and the Bug Juice Party Pouches with Absolut grapefruit, yuzu citrus, pomegranate.

“We wanted the menu to be a take on classic campside favorites that used familiar flavors, refining them with a modern perspective," said Julian Wrede, Senior Director of Food & Beverage Operations at TAO Group Hospitality. “It’s comfort food at its core, but with thoughtful technique and presentation that makes it feel right at home here at Magic Hour.”

Following the success of this past winter’s Mountain Lodge transformation, Camp Magic Hour continues the destination's tradition of creating transportative, highly shareable environments that resonate with both locals and visitors alike.

While Magic Hour Rooftop is generally 21+, families are welcome on Saturday or Sunday during brunch hours. The space is also available for private events and full buyouts, creating an ideal summer backdrop for parties, birthdays, corporate gatherings and more.
