With First-Ever Chancla Throwing World Championship, Abuela Approved Food Judges, and More
New York, NY (March 17, 2025) – The NY Latin Food Fest is back on September 20-21, 2025, bringing an electrifying mix of food, music, art, and culture to New York City. This year’s festival goes beyond the plate with one-of-a-kind experiences, including the first-ever World Championship of Chancla Throwing, the Abuela Approved food squad, and an all-star lineup of over 80 food vendors and live performances.
Created by MASC Hospitality Group (MHG), the team behind the Bronx Night Market and Uptown Night Market, NY Latin Food Fest is a celebration of Latin and Caribbean heritage designed to bring the community together in the most flavorful way possible.
“This isn’t just a food festival—it’s a movement,” said Marco Shalma, founder of MHG. “We’re bringing the flavors, sounds, and soul of Latin culture to the forefront in a way that’s bold, fun, and unforgettable. Whether you’re coming for the food, the music, or to throw a chancla like your life depends on it, this festival is where you need to be.”
At its core, NY Latin Food Fest is about supporting local small and micro businesses—the lifeblood of our neighborhoods. The festival is a platform for independent vendors, family-run eateries, and up-and-coming entrepreneurs to showcase their craft, reach new audiences, and thrive. It’s also a celebration of our resilient, diverse, and hardworking community of New Americans—those who have built businesses, cultures, and legacies from the ground up, adding richness to the fabric of NYC.
