A Revolutionary 250th Celebration – Saturday, June 6, 2026, Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park (Upper Park)
Carmel, NY – Step back in time and witness history come alive at Putnam County Heroes Battle the Redcoats on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park. This extraordinary event, presented in celebration of America’s 250th Revolutionary anniversary, promises an unforgettable experience for all ages.
Visitors will be transported to the 18th century battlefield as British, American, and Native American reenactors recreate the pivotal moments of the Revolutionary War.
Throughout the day, guests will enjoy a wide variety of tactical battle reenactments and interactive living-history experiences, including:
- An original play about patriot spy Enoch Crosby, performed by a local actor
- And a special appearance by George Washington, accompanied by his horse,
greeting visitors and inspiring troops on the field - A medical demonstration focusing on smallpox,
highlighting the challenges faced by 18th-century doctors - Soldier tents and camp cooking displays
- Military drills and demonstrations
- Stirring fife & drum music
- Exciting musket firing exhibitions
Beyond the battlefield, visitors can explore authentic trades of the period with medical, blacksmith, and woodworking demonstrations, as well as a bustling market of merchants offering Revolutionary War - themed and 18th-century inspired goods. Shoppers will find everything from coffees, teas, candles, glassware, and stoneware to flags, t-shirts, and more - perfect keepsakes to remember the day. To make the celebration even more enjoyable, the event will feature food trucks, ensuring delicious options for every appetite. Best of all, admission and parking are free. This is a rain or shine event, so bring your family and enjoy a full day of history and heritage, no matter the weather.
