“Old Skool Sessions” Moves to a New Time on Saturday Nights
Liberty, N.Y. – Radio Catskill, public radio for The Catskills and Northeast Pennsylvania, announced the addition of three new locally produced music shows. Plus, listener favorite “Old Skool Sessions with DJ Chucks and Selector Starkey” moves to a new time on Saturday nights. The new schedule will start February 15.
“These great new local shows represent more than a year of planning, production, and feedback involving staff, our Program Committee, prospective new DJs, and current volunteers following station goals and listener feedback,” said Radio Catskill Program Director Jason Dole. “We could not be more excited to add more locally produced music to our schedule. And hopefully, Chucks and Starkey get a little more sleep while still bringing the funk on Saturday nights!”

Thursday at 10pm
NEW SHOW: Virtual Soundscapes with Matt Hurtado
Where pixels meet melodies, and controllers become conductors
An hour of video game music and industry news. Host Matt Hurtado brings listeners the best music from their favorite games – composed and orchestrated music that crosses multiple genres. Plus, hear Matt’s weekly conversations with video game industry professionals.
Saturday at 8pm
NEW TIME: Old Skool Sessions with DJ Chucks and Selector Starkey
Same old school, brand new time
For more than 23 years, Old Skool Sessions has been bringing Radio Catskill listeners four hours of the best in old-school: rap, funk, breakbeats, club classics, roots reggae, and “everything your mama likes, really” as DJ Chucks says! Now, OSS starts the party earlier, right after another great, local DJ program Liberation Station with Callison Stratton. With this move, the Saturday night music on Radio Catskill is all locally produced from 7pm to 2am!
Saturday Night/Sunday Morning at Midnight
NEW SHOW: Electric Mountain with Jeff Barnes
The best in Electronic Dance Music, from back in the day to today
Host Jeff Barnes presents great EDM—House, Techno, and more. It’s two hours of music to make you move! Jeff spins for the first hour, then brings on a special guest DJ every week for the second hour.
Sunday at 11pm
NEW SHOW: Ambient Barn with Mark Partridge
The tonally fascinating and expansive atmospheric world of electronic music
Music Producer, Sound Designer, and Filmmaker Mark Partridge curates an hour of electronic music in its many forms. Produced in Mark’s big red barn in The Catskills.
Additionally, Upfront Soul with Sanguine Fromage moves to Wednesday night at 9, following Retro Cocktail Hour. Soul Deluxe moves to Sunday at 2am, following Electric Mountain. Return to the Source moves to Sunday at 8pm.
