Making Connections: Highlights from a Decade of Acquisitions Opening January 24
Rochester, NY (Dec. 18, 2024) — The Memorial Art Gallery invites visitors to explore new dialogues between artworks in Making Connections: Highlights from a Decade of Acquisitions. Featured in the Lockhart Gallery from January 24, through July 13, 2025, the exhibition presents works in pairs, drawing connections between different mediums, styles, periods, and regions.
Guests will discover new contexts that artworks provide in support of one another—shared or contrasting qualities in visual strategies, technical approaches, cultural context, and subject matter—and ultimately gain a more diverse understanding of a growing collection.
Coinciding with multiple small installations in the permanent collection galleries, Making Connections reimagines how we connect artworks to inspire new conversations. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
