Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association SCVAWurtsboro, N.Y. (March 11, 2025) – The Village of Wurtsboro will host a bicentennial celebration for the Delaware & Hudson (D&H) Canal, marking 200 years since this historic waterway transformed trade and transportation in the region. The event will feature a parade, historical exhibits, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities. The parade will end at the reenactment site where a portion of Philip Hone’s groundbreaking speech will be read.

WHEN: Sunday, July 13th, 2025 

WHERE: Village of Wurtsboro, NY

WHO: The celebration is open to the public and will include participation from local officials, historians, community organizations, and businesses. 

WHY: The D&H Canal played a pivotal role in the economic and industrial development of the region. This milestone event honors its legacy and the lasting impact it has had on Wurtsboro and beyond.
