Schweinfurth Spring Break Art CampAuburn, NY (March 27, 2024) – Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn is accepting registrations for its Spring Break Art Camp for teens, “There’s Been a Mixup.” A separate morning camp for students 6 to 10 is full. Campers will explore the work of artists Aminah Robinson, Sanford Biggers, Charles McGee, Sheila Hicks, and Madam Mavis from Ghana Africa’s Global Mamas, and use those artists’ creations as inspiration for their own art. Students will experiment with batik, quilting, weaving, hand sewing, and painting, and embellish their work with beads, buttons, and found objects.

The afternoon camp, for students 11 to 15, will be taught by Syracuse artist Vanessa Johnson. It will meet 1 to 4 p.m. daily April 22 to 26, which is spring break week. Cost for the camp is $135 for Schweinfurth members, $145 for non-members.
