Auburn, NY (Jan. 18, 2024) – Wondering what your child can do during Winter Break next month? Consider signing them up for a session of Winter Art Camp at the Schweinfurth Art Center.
The art center is offering two sessions:
- Handbuilding Ceramics Camp will meet 9 a.m. to noon for children aged 6 to 10. Campers will learn the basics of handbuilding, including stretching, building, smoothing, scratching, and pinching, while working on several projects.
- Teen Wheel Throwing Ceramics Camp will meet 1 to 4 p.m. for students aged 11 to 15. This camp is for students who are serious about learning wheel throwing, but they need not have prior experience.
Both camps will be taught by ceramic artist Christina Zardus, who has a degree in arts education from Central Michigan University. She works as an apprentice under nationally recognized ceramic artist Jeremy Randall.
Each camp costs $200 per student for Schweinfurth members, and $210 for nonmembers. For more information, visit our website at https://schweinfurthartcenter.org/youth-classes/ or call 315-255-1553.
