From immersive live-action movie events and educational workshops to Father’s Day specials and spectacular Independence Day celebrations, the historic fort is bringing the 18th century to life all season long.

Second and Fourth of July Celebration: Commemorating America’s Semiquincentennial and the nation’s 250th birthday, Fort William Henry is proud to present a grand celebration overlooking Lake George and the fireworks.

Guests can attend festivities on either July 2 or July 4 and enjoy an evening filled with:

  • Fireworks over Lake George
  • Live entertainment

  • Games and make-and-take crafts
  • Living History demonstrations
  • Musket and cannon firing
  • Haunted History Ghost Tours
  • Museum exhibits

  • July 2, 2026: 7:00 PM – 10:30 PM
  • July 4, 2026: 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Fireworks begin at 9:30 PM each evening from the North Wall and Bastions.

Entertainment on July 2 will feature Andy Scott, with additional entertainment to be announced for July 4.

Visitors attending the July 4 celebration are encouraged to stay after the fireworks festivities to avoid post-fireworks traffic while continuing to enjoy the atmosphere and activities until 11:00 PM.

The Last of the Mohicans is back! Fort William Henry’s signature attraction The Last of the  Mohicans Immersive Movie Experience is back with 3 upcoming showings. Featuring live musket and cannon fire synchronized perfectly with the movie, the experience combines reenactors, skilled guides, and over 8,000 watts of sound to create an unforgettable evening of adventure and excitement.

Father’s Day at the Fort: Families can also celebrate Father’s Day at the fort on June 21, 2026, with all fathers receiving 50% off admission for the day. Guests can explore the historic grounds, enjoy live demonstrations, and experience interactive history together.

Educational Workshops: History enthusiasts will not want to miss the upcoming workshop, Warships of the French & Indian War: Naval Preludes to the American Revolution, presented by Joseph W. Zarzynski, RPA.
