Lake George Arts Project exhibition in the Courthouse Gallery August 28 through September 15th
Lake George, N.Y. – Organized in conjunction with the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Jazz at the Lake Festival, September 13th, 14th, and 15th, this juried exhibition showcases artists’ visual interpretations of natural sound and music. Juror Dan Cameron, whose many projects often bring music and the visual arts together, served for ten years as the senior curator for the New Museum in New York City. In 2007, he founded the triennial exhibition Prospect New Orleans, an initiative that brings the work of national and international contemporary artists to venues throughout the birthplace of jazz.
This exhibition is funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York State Legislature, the Town and Village of Lake George, 518 Profiles, The Alfred Z Solomon Charitable Trust, Stewart’s Holiday Match, Walmart SparkGood, and LGAP members.
The Courthouse Gallery is located in the side entrance of the Old County Courthouse, on Lower Amherst Street in Lake George, NY. During scheduled exhibitions our in-person office and gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday 12 – 5 pm, Saturday and
12 – 4 pm.
If you would like to visit exhibitions outside of Gallery hours or request a tour for a group, please contact June Waters, Director of Exhibitions, at june@lakegeorgearts.org.
