Saratoga Springs, NY (March 5, 2025) — The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College invites the public to attend a Curators’ Tour for the exhibition Everforward, Neverback on Thursday, March 20, at noon. The exhibition presents art from the Tang collection that reveals how the experiences of members of various ethnic and racial groups—including Black Americans, Indigenous Americans, and other people of color—can offer narratives of joy, beauty, and community as acts of resistance. Everforward, Neverback was recently recognized by New York City-based art publication Hyperallergic as a must-see exhibition.
The tour will be led by Skidmore College Professor of American Studies Beck Krefting and three students from her fall 2024 course “Critical Whiteness in the United States.” The class organized the exhibition, and the students who will help give the tour are Aimee Ayala ’27, Kayla Moody ’25, and Allie Serapilio ’25. Rebecca McNamara, the Tang Associate Curator, will give a short introduction.
The other students who co-curated the exhibition are: Elise Burton ’26, Juliette Dube ’25, Benno Greene ’25, Catie Hamilton ’25, Cassie Handler ’26, Lucy McCulloch ’26, Jacob Mejia Levy ’25, Dillon Nelson ’26, Anna Paul ’25, Velo Prisant ’25, Taryn Queenin ’25, Ezra Shamy ’25, Katie Steele ’26, Ashley Wilkerson ’26, and Juliana Yglesias ’26.
The Tang’s Curator’s Tours offer visitors in-depth access to the ideas and decisions behind its exhibitions. Dayton Director Ian Berry will give a Curator’s Tour on Thursday, April 24, at noon of the exhibition a field of bloom and hum.
The Tang also offers Tang Guide Tours every Sunday at 2 pm, through May 4. Tang Guides are members of the Museum’s front-line staff who are trained in various approaches to viewing and interpreting works of art.
All tours are free and open to the public. They provide visitors unique perspectives on our exhibitions, as well as the museum. Through the presentation of contemporary art, the Tang offers visitors opportunities to connect with new ideas and ways of understanding the complexities of the human experience.

About the Tang Teaching Museum
The Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College is a pioneer of interdisciplinary exploration and learning. The Tang has one of the most rigorous faculty-engagement initiatives in the nation, and a robust publication and touring exhibition program that extends the museum’s reach far beyond its walls. The Tang Teaching Museum’s award-winning building, designed by architect Antoine Predock, serves as a visual metaphor for the convergence of art and ideas.
