Iconic NYC Eatery Hosts Celebration to Witness Rare NYC Phenomenon
New York, N.Y. – On Monday, April 8, 2024, Tavern on the Green is hosting its first-ever Solar Eclipse Viewing Party, offering themed cocktails, iconic dining classics such as the Tavern burger, an exclusively themed black and white cookie and protective glasses to safely view the eclipse.
New York City will witness a rare solar eclipse, reaching up to 90% totality around 3:25PM. Tavern on the Green and its picturesque Central Park backdrop make for an ideal setting for New Yorkers to experience the unique phenomenon.
Held in the Courtyard from 2:00PM to 5:00PM, the unbeatable viewing event promises to enrich guests with great food, great drinks, and expert knowledge. Specialty menu items for purchase include Milky Way Mac and Cheese, Satellite Meatball Sliders, Chocolate Moon Pies and an Eclipse Black and White Cookie. During the pre-eclipse happy hour, an astronomer from Columbia University will give a 30-minute educational presentation to explain more about the eclipse, such as why it happens and why this particular eclipse is so rare.
