Harlem, NY — On Thursday, October 9, the Uptown Night Market takes its final bow under the Harlem arches at 12th Avenue and 133rd Street. After five unforgettable years, the market that turned Thursdays into Harlem’s biggest block party will host one last night of food, music, and community.
Since its debut in 2021, Uptown Night Market has drawn more than 300,000 visitors, averaging 8,000 guests each month, and has become a launchpad for dozens of POC-, immigrant-, and women-owned businesses across New York City. What began as an idea beneath the viaduct grew into one of the city’s most celebrated cultural events — a monthly tradition that embodied Harlem’s flavor, resilience, and spirit.
The October 9 finale will be the most stacked edition yet, featuring 70+ food vendors, surprise giveaways, and an unforgettable live soundtrack. The night’s lineup includes Special Occasion, a powerhouse soul band; NYC Royalty, a masterful Latino band; and the legendary DJ Cosi, who returns to close out the market with his signature Uptown energy.
“Harlem made this market legendary,” said Marco Shalma, Executive Producer of MASC Hospitality Group. “The vendors, the artists, the neighbors, the sponsors — everyone who showed up made Uptown Night Market a movement. This last event is our way of saying thank you, and of celebrating what we built together.”
While October 9 closes the Uptown Night Market chapter, it’s not the end of the story. Shalma confirmed that MASC Hospitality Group is already working on a new, permanent project rooted in Harlem that will continue the mission of celebrating culture, fueling innovation, and supporting small businesses.
“This is the last hoorah under the arches, but not the end of Uptown,” Shalma added. “We’re building the next chapter right here in Harlem, and it’s going to be bigger and bolder than anything we’ve done before.”
