New app and custom itineraries highlight area attractions
Syracuse, N.Y. – In honor of National Plan for Vacation Day on Tuesday, Jan. 28, Visit Syracuse announced the launch of its Simple Wonders campaign, a new set of resources designed to help both locals and visitors alike explore the natural beauty and cultural wonders of Syracuse and the surrounding region.
The Syracuse area is a haven for four-season, outdoor adventure—offering a diverse range of parks and trails, waterfalls, scenic lakes, ski mountains, orchards and more. The area is full of rich cultural heritage that has shaped the stories of our nation, including equal rights, women’s suffrage, Erie Canal, and Native American history.
Through the Simple Wonders campaign, visitors can find and interact with themed itineraries, website content and trip planning tools that will help them learn about the area and plan an upcoming vacation.
A highlight of the campaign includes the launch of a new Visit Syracuse Tours app, which provides eight themed tours, each crafted to share the unique offerings of Central New York. Hosted through STQRY, a company based in Upstate New York, this interactive app creates location-based and self-guided tours accessible right from the visitor’s phone. Content on the app caters to several different interests, including family-friendly fun, seasonal offerings, and health and wellness-related experiences within the area. The app is available through both the Apple and Google Play stores.
