Saratoga Springs, NY (March 6, 2023) – Saratoga Performing Arts Center announces its inaugural fundraiser to kick-off the summer season, Summer SPACtacular, featuring an expansive celebration across the SPAC grounds that includes live music, a multi-course “Summerscape Supper,” culinary tastings, cocktails, a whiskey and cigar lounge, fireworks and a dance party on SPAC’s historic stage. Slated for Friday, June 2 from 5:00-11:00 p.m., the event will benefit SPAC’s mission, residencies, and youth education initiatives.

Staatsburgh State Historic SiteStaatsburg, N.Y.  (7/5/22) — This summer, Staatsburgh State Historic Site is offering guided landscape walks on the Gilded Age estate’s beautiful grounds overlooking the Hudson River.  The program, entitled “What You See… and What You Don’t See,” shows how Staatsburgh’s landscape architect designed a glorious setting that showcased the good life in the Gilded Age, while deliberately using landscape elements to hide the technology and labor that made a turn-of-the-century estate run. Using historic photos of the grounds, the tour will reveal what visitors would have seen at the turn of the 20th Century, but also step behind the curtain to show what was hidden from them.

Historic Fair returns to Batavia, NY July 23-30

Batavia, N.Y. – The Genesee County Fair, one of the longest consecutively running county fairs in New York State, returns for its 182nd year at the Genesee County Fairgrounds. This year’s fair will take place Jul. 23-30, 2022 with its Midway open every day of the event. Admission is free and parking is just $10 per carload, making it an affordable event for the family.  

Run 100% by volunteers, the Genesee County Fair continues to grow. Over the eight days, spanning two weekends, attendees will enjoy nightly live music, classic fair foods, meet and greets with animals and a Midway courtesy of Hammerl Amusements. During Kids Days (Jul. 23, 27 and 30), ride wristbands for kids aged 16 and under are only $15. …

And prepare to be wowed. Skaneateles’ Curbstone Festival and Sidewalk Sales return July 21-23 along Genesee, Jordan and Fennell streets. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. “Curbstone is one of Skaneateles’ iconic traditions,” says Hilary Fenner, executive director of the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce. “The streets come alive with unique offerings, while children are enchanted by balloon art and juggling.
