Six Flags Darien LakeDarien Center, N.Y. Six Flags Darien Lake will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the water park’s newest water slide, Wahoo Wave and the rebrand of our water park to Hurricane Harbor. Experience the 60-foot-tall addition that will rank as one of the tallest water rides in Hurricane Harbor. Following a six-story climb to the top of the tower Wahoo Wave riders will twist through a hairpin turn, followed by a corkscrew. Without warning, riders in four-person tubes will plunge down an unforgettable, three-story drop. This adrenaline-packed adventure will send riders into near-vertical motions to experience extended hang times and zero g-forces.

Performances from the Hudson Valley Folk Guild

Staatsburg, N.Y. — New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce its outdoor summer concert series, Twilight Music in the Parks, at Walkway Over the Hudson, on Thursday nights from 6:00 – 7:00pm. The concert will be held on the Highland (Ulster) side at the Ulster Visitor Center. The music program runs each Thursday night now through September 1.

Members of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild will perform a musical program from a different artist each week at the Walkway.  We hope that you will stop by and listen to the sounds of folk music from local singer-songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, soloists, and groups at the Walkway this summer…

Skyride Experience

Feel the woosh of ski jumpers just feet away, launching themselves the length of a football field. Explore the jumps and towers while riding with friends and family on an eight-person gondola. Then take the glass-enclosed elevator to the observation deck of the HS 128 meter ski jump tower for panoramic views. Venue: Olympic Jumping Complex. Open: Daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, beginning May 20, 2022.

Lake Placid, NY – New York State’s Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) announces opening dates and times for a slate of popular summer activities at Whiteface Mountain. 

Veterans’ Memorial Highway

A historic eight-mile highway to the top of the only Adirondack peak accessible by car. At the top, visitors can explore a castle built of local stone, dine at the Castle’s 4610’ Grill, find a souvenir at the Castle Gift Shop, and take a short hike to the rocky summit of Whiteface, or alternatively, ride a fully accessible elevator carved deep inside the mountain. The summit offers 360-degree panoramic views of the Adirondacks, Vermont, and even Canada.
