Schweinfurth constructionAuburn, NY (Dec. 20. 2024) -- Construction work at the Schweinfurth Art Center is making progress on the center’s entrance addition, and connecting walkways to the Cayuga Museum of History & Art next door have been completed. Due to weather and procurement issues, the Schweinfurth’s substantial completion date has been pushed to mid-March.

But delays haven't stopped the art center’s plans for upcoming programs. “Quilts=Art=Quilts 2024” will remain open through Jan. 5, 2025. “Both Ends of the Rainbow” and “Three Lakes Sampler” will open on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, and run through March 15, 2025. Winter Art Camp is scheduled for Feb. 17-21, 2025, and pottery studio open studio hours continue.

The center’s parking lot remains unavailable to the public, but visitors can park on the street in front of the art center or in a new parking lot behind the Cayuga Museum of History & Art. People who park in that lot can reach the Schweinfurth’s front door by following the new sidewalks between the two institutions.

“We thank you for your patience with the parking challenges and construction noise while we make these improvements,” said Executive Director Donna Lamb. “It will be worth it in the end!”

The Schweinfurth is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays abd 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. The center will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 and Jan. 1. For more information, visit our website at myartcenter.org or call 315-255-1553.
