Riverhead, NY (August 6, 2026) --- On Saturday, August 15, Historic Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead will rock on and on when it hosts Hallockville Hootenanny, a full day, free music festival featuring performances by five talented Long Island bands. From noon to 7 p.m. the picturesque grounds surrounding the farm’s Naugles Barn will come alive with music, local food trucks and vendors, and family-friendly fun. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and celebrate summer on the North Fork at this historic 28-acre preserved family farm homestead. Hallockville Museum Farm is located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead.
Hallockville Hootenanny will feature musical performances throughout the day by:
Ernie & The Band is marking ten years of performing together with a show at Hallockville that pays homage to classic acts like The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers and Phish, while focusing on its growing catalog of original music and incorporating plenty of danceable improvisation. Their sound is appreciated and sought after by their loyal community of “Ernies.”
Mr. Rooster is a swingin’ rockin’, and sometimes bluegrassin’ jam band from Long Island. Formed by Tom Bauer and Dave Ferro, Mr. Rooster is established among the top, rising bands within the Long Island and NYC jam scenes. Mr. Rooster’s music is inspired by the classics, but surprisingly fresh, featuring tight vocal harmonies, soaring lead guitars, and their own special brand of musical hijinks.
Dysfunktone was formed in a garage in East Rockaway by musicians with a shared interest in funky music, sushi, and noise complaints. The band has evolved into a full-fledged Groove Jam Rock outfit that pushes the boundaries of genre and sound. Dysfunktone is best known for complex musical arrangements, huge dynamic changes at the drop of a dime, and its ability to weave extended improvisational sequences into any song in their catalogue, as well as their unique interpretations of various music influences.
Westlake is a five-piece rock band from Oceanside that specializes in extended improvised jams, genre blending and covering some of the best music we know and love. What started as a Grateful Dead / Phish cover band has grown to cover all sorts of genres and bands. Deadhead alert: Westlake promises a full Grateful Dead set at Hallockville Hootenanny!
Purely Green is an alternative band from western Long Island known for blending raw sound and pretty arrangements to create a scene or a story with its music. However, at Hallockville Hootenanny, Purely Green plans to play covers and pay homage to one it its favorite bands, Steely Dan. Come and hear what they can do when they step a little outside their comfort zone.
Admission to Hallockville Hootenanny is free and all ages are welcome. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Hallockville Hootenanny is made possible in-part, by a grant from Suffolk County.
