Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Calendar Listings: October 2023 

Hiking Trails Throughout the month – Open daily from dawn to dusk

Each hiking trail, located at the Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall, is an adventure, with options that range from stroller friendly up to challenging. For more information visit hhnm.org.

Wildlife Education Center (WEC) Throughout the Month – Saturday and Sunday, 12pm to 4pm At the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum’s Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson, visitors can see a collection of live native animals.  1 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. join a Nature Educator for “Meet the Animals!”  You can also explore the exhibit gallery or go on a hike. Admission: Museum Members Free. Not-yet-Members $5 ages 3 and up. Grasshopper Grove Nature Play Area:  – Saturday and Sundays from 
10am to 4pm

Come and play in Grasshopper Grove, the first nature play area in the Hudson Valley, at the Outdoor Discovery Center, 120 Muser Drive, Cornwall. Grasshopper Grove is a 'bridge' between a mowed lawn and the wild woods, that encourages children to discover nature play spaces in their own backyards and the wider world. Children can use their imaginations to build in the 'loose parts' area, hop from stump to stump, play in the sand and dirt pile, paint with water and much more!  Admission Museum Members are free. Not-yet-Members $5.  For more information visit hhnm.org or call 845-534-5506, ext. 211.

Wine & Spirits Ghost Tour (for ages 21+)   - Friday, October 20,  7pm-9pm
Join HHNM for a night of intrigue, apparitions, and fun the Outdoor Discovery Center, 120 Muser Drive, Cornwall! We will have our Soul-mmelier Rob Lipkin “pour his heart out” for your wine tasting pleasure. Carl Heitmuller will divulge about the entities that people have heard and seen, plus his own personal stories of the last 30 years here at the Nature Museum. Our 160-year-old farmhouse will be the setting for an evening of Wine & Spirits! Join us if you dare…. Prepaid registration is requiredAdmission: Museum Members: $75. Not-yet-Members: $90. iSPY Halloween Nature Trail- Saturday, October 28, 11pm-3pm

Have some spook-tacular family fun at the Outdoor Discovery Center, 120 Muser Drive, Cornwall.  Sharpen your observation skills as you search for clues and other hidden surprises along the no-scare I SPY Halloween Trail! But keep your eyes open… you never know who -- or what -- you might meet during this special “scavenger haunt!” Find all of the hidden items and receive a prize! This self-guided activity is a great way for families with little ghouls and goblins to celebrate Halloween.  Costumes are encouraged! Prepaid registration is requiredAdmission: All tickets are $10 for ages 3 and up.
