Women & Children in the American Revolution

Location: Ulysses S. Grant State Historic Site, Gansevoort, New York
Join Anne Clothier as she explores the experiences of women and children during the fight for American Independence. Discover the lives of those on the homefront through stories from those who lived in the Saratoga area during the 1770s, as well as images, maps, documents, and hands-on 18th-century activities.

Fourth of July Citizenship Ceremony & Concert
Date: July 4, 2026 | 10am
Location: Saratoga National Historical Park, Stillwater, New York
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence by helping us welcome ten new citizens of the United States! The event will include a special musical program featuring members of the Racing City Chorus. We’ll wrap up the program with a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Large crowds are expected and parking is limited. Please carpool with family or friends if possible and be prepared to walk some distance from overflow parking areas.
America’s 250th Independence Day with Saratoga 250

Join Saratoga 250 on July 4th for a patriotic community gathering that honors our nation’s founding and the region’s pivotal role in American history. Enjoy a festive atmosphere filled with tradition, pride, and celebration at one of Saratoga’s most iconic landmarks. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime way to mark this milestone anniversary together.
Sharing the Spirit of America – Simultaneous Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Location: Saratoga County Complex, Ballston Spa, NY
To commemorate the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8, 1776, ‘Sharing the Spirit of America’ is the simultaneous reading of the Declaration of Independence across the country (and around the world) 250-years later, ‘together’ at the ‘same’ time. Please join us at the Veteran’s Memorial outside the Saratoga County Clerk’s Office for this event.

Community Declaration Reading
Date: July 19, 2027 | 2pm
Location: Saratoga National Historical Park, Stillwater, New York
Join SNHP and Saratoga250 for a community reading of the Declaration of Independence, corresponding with the date when news of the document reached this region. Local accounts report that it was “received with applause and satisfaction.” Members of the community will join together to read the entire Declaration of Independence, and it will be followed by music from Saratoga Voices.
America’s Turning Point @ the Saratoga County Fair
Date: July 21–26, 2026
Location: Saratoga County Fairgrounds, Saratoga Springs, New York
Combine family fun at the fair with our 18th century era games, live reenactors, and try out our America’s Turning Point augmented reality 3-D images of figures from Saratoga’s Revolutionary history.
