Dog Hill RoadCHAIRity Auction Offers Chance to Take Home Creatively Refurbished Items

Cape Vincent, N.Y. - Downtown Cape Vincent will be abuzz with live music of all kinds as the Cape Vincent Arts Council presents its 10th annual “Stroll on Broadway” Music Fest on Saturday, August 29, from 9:15 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, August 30.) The free event will feature 17 musical acts performing on the porches and patios of local businesses along Broadway Street in downtown Cape Vincent. The “Stroll” will also feature sidewalk sales, artists, and children’s entertainment on the Village Green.

In addition, visitors can participate in the “CHAIRity Auction,” a silent auction of refinished, refurbished, and creatively redecorated chairs, beginning at noon along Broadway. Winning bids will be announced at 5:00; winners must be present to claim their items. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Breakwater Gallery and Cape Vincent Arts Council.

The Stroll on Broadway is made possible through local business sponsorships and donations from the public, which will be accepted throughout the day. Participating sponsor businesses that will host musical performances include Belle Epoque, Cape Vincent Brewery, Cup of Joy Cafe, Fig and Fox 1858, Grandma Ann’s Family Diner, Hometown Meals To-Go, The Little Book Store, Madymae on Broadway, and Ruelle Open Art Studio, plus the Cape Vincent Food Pantry and Cape Vincent American Legion Post 832.

·       Eclipse: Tas Cru & Mary Ann Casale – acoustic blues/Americana

·       The Flanigans – Celtic folk music and sea shanties

·       Kelsey Fraser – acoustic folk and country

·       Garland City Fiddlers – classical and pop music adaptations

·       Midnight Ryders – rock standards

·       Quill & Plow – acoustic folk/blues/country/Celtic

·       Rib & The Bones – alternative indie rock

·       Gabriel Shepherd – acoustic country/rock/blues

·       The Whole Nine Yards – rock/pop/country

·       Gary Walts – classical/fingerstyle guitarist

·       LW Watterson – acoustic blues

 The Cape Vincent Arts Council (CVAC) is dedicated to increasing opportunities for the public to enjoy and participate in cultural activities in and around Cape Vincent. Among the events it sponsors are the Concerts on the Green series, Riverside Music Festival, Stroll on Broadway, summer art classes, artist and author presentations, and its premiere event, the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition for Young People (September 11-13, 2026).
