Lake Placid, N.Y. - The View Restaurant at Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2026 Restaurant Awards, which celebrate the world’s best restaurants for wine. The View Restaurant was, once again, awarded the two-glass “Best of” Award of Excellence. The upstate New York establishment has maintained this distinction since 2018.
According to WineSpectator.com, more than 4,000 dining spots, from all 50 U.S. states and more than 85 countries, earned honors for excellence in their wine lists, cellars and service.
Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards represent the world’s only program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service. They are assigned on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award.
“We are honored to once again receive Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence, reaffirming The View Restaurant’s position as home to Lake Placid’s highest-rated wine list,” said Curtiss Hemm, Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Director. “This recognition reflects our continued commitment to curating an exceptional wine program that complements the culinary experience our guests have come to expect.”
This upscale Lake Placid dining establishment, located in the Northern Adirondack Mountains, has been AAA Four Diamond rated the past 19 straight years.
The “Best of” Award of Excellence recipients display excellent breadth across multiple winegrowing regions and/or significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation.
Wine Spectator’s special Restaurant Awards issue is now available to readers on newsstands and in stores.
