The invitation-only annual event is generating overnight bookings at area hotels on Monday, April 9, and Tuesday, April 10. As in past years, it is expected that attendees will not only be participating in the food show, but will also be visiting local businesses during those two days.

March 5, 2018 – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the International University Sports Federation selected Lake Placid as the site for the 2023 Winter World University Games. Delegates from the Adirondack North Country Global Sports Committee and FISU signed a memorandum of understanding at the FISU headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland last week after nearly a year and a half of negotiations. This will be the second time Lake Placid has hosted the Games, the first time being in 1972, and the third time New York State has hosted, with Buffalo hosting in 1993. The Games have never been hosted by another state in the U.S.

Ticonderoga, NY – Fort Ticonderoga’s “Fort Fever Series” continues on Sunday, March 11, at 2:00 p.m. with a program on “A ‘Charmingly Aggressive Woman’ Sarah Pell’s Struggle for History & Human Rights” presented by Miranda Peters, Fort Ticonderoga’s Director of Collections. During this program, explore images, archival materials, and collections never before seen by the public, and recently cataloged by museum staff that reveal glimpses of Sarah Pell’s impactful work. This program is part of the National Women’s History Month celebration.

Tupper Lake Craft Beer and Cross-country skiingTupper Lake, NY - Embark on a craft beer-and-skiing tour this season and glide along on the growing network of groomed trails, stopping along the way to sample the region’s best brews.

The Tupper Lake Brew-ski returns on February 24 with eight local breweries serving their craft beers along the one and a half miles of beautifully maintained ski trails at the Tupper Lake Golf Course.

Ticonderoga Winter CarnivalTiconderoga, NY – February 8, 2018 – The Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership (TMSP) Promotions Committee in coordination with the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce and Silver Bay YMCA Teen Center, as well as local businesses and organization are pleased to announce they will host the Fourth Annual Ticonderoga End of Winter Carnival on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 and that new aspects including fireworks display have been added to enhance the event. This FREE family friendly event will include activities all day and throughout the evening. Business promotions and specials will be available all weekend.

Fort Ticonderoga Fever Series ProgramTiconderoga, NY – Fort Ticonderoga’s “Fort Fever Series” continues on Sunday, February 11, at 2:00 p.m. with a program on “Soldiers of Color at Ticonderoga” presented by Stuart Lilie, Vice President of Public History and Operations. During this program, explore the diversity of soldiers who fought at Ticonderoga and examine how attitudes about soldiers of color varied dramatically within the numerous armies and empires that held Ticonderoga. This program is part of the National Black History Month celebration.
