Watch America’s Oldest Theatrical Experience In New York + Bermuda This March
New York, NY (March 2, 2023) - The Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the oldest theater organization in the United States, today announced they will return to New York City and Hamilton, Bermuda for the first time in three years to stage their 174th annual production, Cosmic Relief.
The Pudding, a Harvard comedic organization most known for their annual Man and Woman of the Year awards, has performed for the likes of Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, Whoopi Goldberg, and most recently, Jennifer Coolidge and Bob Odenkirk.
After a 3 year hiatus from international tours due to COVID-19, the Pudding is once again taking the stage in New York City and Hamilton, Bermuda for performances of HPT 174: Cosmic Relief.
SHOW DESCRIPTION
Houston, we have a problem: FBI agent LAUREN ORDER has tanked the Apollo Mission again! Since Lauren turned her communist mother in to the FBI as a child, the Bureau has been her home — but after losing all of her animal test-astronauts to the cosmos and sending America’s space race chances hurtling, she’s been demoted to the place of a government agent’s nightmares: Hollywood. On her way to bust failed director WORSE N. WELLES’s production of a sci-fi movie with communist undertones, Lauren has a realization: if she can’t make a real moon landing happen, why not fake one instead? With the help of professional extra JUSTIN D’BACKCROWNED, will her out-of-this-world production successfully make it into orbit and feign one giant leap for mankind? Or, will Lauren end up like NASA’s cutest pup LASSIE NINORBETTE, and find herself lost in space?

ABOUT THE HASTY PUDDING THEATRICALS: The Hasty Pudding Theatricals (HPT) is the oldest theater company in the country, comprised of 50 Harvard college undergraduates annually. Since 1844, HPT has produced an original, entirely student-written and composed, pun-filled musical extravaganza. Each year, the show runs for five weeks in Cambridge before our annual tour in New York City and Bermuda. In 2019, HPT announced its first gender-inclusive cast, welcoming women to the historic Pudding stage. Some of America’s most prominent personalities got their start in the Pudding, including Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, JFK, Jack Lemmon, Alan Jay Lerner, Rashida Jones, and even the two most recent Governors of MA.
