Celebrating Suffrage“Celebrating Suffrage”— February 29 through April 29

Utica, NY – Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute celebrates the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote with the exhibition, “Celebrating Suffrage,” featuring more than 200 years of art made by women and honoring women’s innovative creative pursuits before and after they were officially recognized as full citizens of the United States. “Celebrating Suffrage,” on view February 29 through April 19, explores art as a vehicle for women, as individuals or in groups, to reflect, reform, or challenge social beliefs and political practices of their era.

Lake George Regional Chamber of CommerceLake George, NY — A total of 17 restaurants around Lake George area are offering a special Mardi Gras gumbo and Common Roots brew for $5 as part of the second Stews ‘N’ Brews event, Saturday, February 29, 12-5 p.m. Also, new this year, for $5 two shuttles, Hoppy Trails and Spa City Tours will run routes to help patrons get from restaurant to restaurant.  The $5 ticket also allows patrons to enter into raffles at every establishment that are valued at a minimum of dinner for two or approximately $50.

Bethel, NY (February 25, 2020) – Bethel Woods Center for the Arts today announced that Grammy Award-winning legendary artists Carlos Santana alongside Earth, Wind & Fire will embark on a North American tour, expected to be the hottest ticket this summer.  The tour includes a performance at the historic site on August 23rd.  A continuation of 2019’s Supernatural Now tour for Santana, the Miraculous Supernatural 2020 Tour will mark the first time that these two powerhouses will share the stage in the U.S.

Staatsburgh Downton Abbey TourStaatsburg, N.Y. Through Our Eyes - Hudson River MuseumMuseum Honored for "Through Our Eyes: Collection Initiative and Exhibition"

Yonkers, New York (February 25) —The Hudson River is proud to announce that it will be awarded an Engaging Communities Award by the Museum Association of New York (MANY) for its collecting initiative and exhibition, Through Our Eyes: Milestones and Memories of African Americans in Yonkers, which showcased 100 years of photographs and objects documenting the celebrations and achievements of the African Americans who helped to make Yonkers the vibrant city it is today. The exhibition was on view at the Hudson River Museum from May 31–November 3, 2019.

The film will be presented in association with New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) on Sunday, March 8 at 4pm at the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in Astoria. The screening is part of the Museum’s Always on Sunday monthly Greek film series.
