Lewiston, NY –  Additional dates of Tuesday, October 4, from 10am-12pm and Tuesday, October 11, from 10am-12pm, were added to Sound Moves Me, an accessible introduction to experimental music through interactive participation. Discover how to use non-specialized sound sources (bodies, objects, simple audio technologies) and scores/instructions to enrich skills in listening, sound-making, improvisation, and coordination, while catalyzing creativity. Experimental music initiative Null Point (featuring artists Megan Kyle and Colin Tucker) joins Artpark Bridges for this special collaboration with program director Cynthia Pegado.

We Are NYOctober Shuttle Promotes Public Safety by Providing Free, Convenient Access from North Hudson to Popular Adirondack High Peaks Trailheads

Part of State's Ongoing Commitment to Safety, Sustainable Use, and Equitable Access to the Outdoors  

Governor Kathy Hochul today announced a new, free shuttle service for visitors traveling to see the fall foliage in the Adirondacks starting this weekend in North Hudson. Shuttles will run the first two weekends in October from the Frontier Town Gateway to the Giant Mountain, Roaring Brook Falls, and Rooster Comb trailheads, as well as the Marcy Field Parking Area.

Saratoga Springs, NY (September 13, 2022) – Saratoga Performing Arts Center announces that its WAMC@SPAC series will continue with “BAM! And Then It Hit Me with Karen Brooks Hopkins” on Thursday, September 29 at 6 p.m. in the Nancy DiCresce Room at The Pines@SPAC facility. WAMC’s Joe Donahue will lead the conversation with author and President Emerita of the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Karen Brooks Hopkins about her new memoir, “BAM! And Then It Hit Me,” a behind-the-scenes look at Hopkins’ 36 years at the iconic cultural institution, America’s oldest performing arts center. The discussion will explore leadership, innovation, urban revitalization and stories about artists and icons who inspired Hopkins throughout her career. A book signing will follow the conversation.

Sugar Loaf Film FestOrange County, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2022) – Movie fans and filmmakers, get ready for the first-ever Sugar Loaf Film Festival! The three-day event, Thursday, Sept. 22 through Saturday, Sept. 24, will showcase the best of emerging filmmakers, with a focus on the Hudson Valley.

Taking place at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Chester, N.Y., the festival will offer screenings of more than 40 films – mostly shorts – plus panel discussions and workshops on screenwriting, acting, cinematography, costume design and hair and make-up.
