The eight-day summer concert series runs from August 10 through August 18
Lake George, NY (March 11, 2022) - Orchestral and chamber music performances will be accompanied by the breathtaking views of Lake George and the Adirondack Mountains this summer during the Lake George Music Festival’s 11th annual season. The Festival will return to the historic Fort William Henry Carriage House with opening night as a lakeside performance in Shepard Park. Events begin August 10 and run through August 18. The Festival features a diverse musical lineup, showcasing the versatility of more than 30 World-Class Symphony musicians as they perform music ranging from cherished legendary masterworks by Mozart, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky to new works written by the Festival’s composer in residence. August 11th - 7:30 pm - A full chamber music performance featuring LGMF artists in residence. Program to highlight: Robert Schumann, Piano Quintet, Op.44
August 12th - 7:30 pm - A full chamber music performance is featuring LGMF artists in residence. Program to highlight: Ludwig van Beethoven, String Quartet No. 14 in c # minor, Op. 131
August 13th - 7:30 pm -A full chamber music performance is featuring LGMF artists in residence. Program to highlight: Franz Schubert, Octet in F major, D.803
August 14th – 1 pm - Piano Mania! A Festival favorite returns! Hear the Lake George Music Festival pianists perform solo, 4-hand, 6-hand, and 8-hand piano repertoire. A fun program for everyone!
August 15th - 7:30 pm A full chamber music performance is featuring LGMF artists in residence. Program to highlight: Johannes Brahms, Piano Quintet, Op. 34
August 16th - 7:30 pm -A full chamber music performance is featuring LGMF artists in residence. Program to highlight: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Quintet in E-flat major, K.452
August 17th - 7:30 pm - A full chamber music performance is featuring LGMF artists in residence. Program to highlight: P.I. Tchaikovsky Souvenir de Florence, Op.70
August 18th – 1 pm - The Rhythm Method performs new compositions by the students of the Lake George Music Festival Composer's Institute
August 18th - 7:30 pm - Final Symphony Orchestra Concert – Program featuring: Bela Bartok, Romanian Folk Dances, Sergi Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dances, and the world premiere performance of Pascal Le Boeuf's new double concerto for arx duo, Barbora Kolářová, and the Lake George Music Festival Symphony Orchestra. Roger Kalia conducts.
The Lake George Music Festival (LGMF) began in 2011. Each LGMF has brought emerging young talent and celebrated artists from 27 countries worldwide to the 32-mile-long “Queen of American Lakes” Lake George in picturesque upstate New York.
