11th Annual Nordic International Film FestivalFilms from 13 countries, two mornings of panels, and curated networking spaces mark NIFF’s 11th year at LOOK Dine-In Cinemas

New York, NY – The Nordic International Film Festival (NIFF), has revealed its three-day program, featuring films from 13 countries and a series of curated panels connecting global and New York filmmakers, as the festival celebrates its 11th year at LOOK Dine-In Cinemas, November 6–8.

This year’s lineup showcases an inspiring mix of Nordic and international films — from compelling features and documentaries to bold new shorts — each reflecting NIFF’s mission to bridge cultures through Nordic-style cinematic storytelling.

Among this year’s highlights are the New York Premiere of Shanti Rides Shotgun, a U.S. documentary which premiered at SXSW 2025 and won Best Documentary Short at the Palm Springs International ShortFest, and Mercenaire, a Canadian short which premiered at TIFF 2024. Both films exemplify the kind of uniquely authentic, human-centered storytelling NIFF is proud to present.

“Nordic cinema consistently beats to the heart of what it means to be human. In a world focused on achieving the biggest dreams, Nordic films invite us to sit in both the stillness and the chaos, to remember what it means to be alive,” says Alexis Di Gregorio, Festival Director of the Nordic International Film Festival. “As we enter NIFF’s 11th year, we continue to be a launchpad for outstanding new talent while celebrating the enduring legacy of Nordic filmmaking with New York City audiences.”

In addition to three days of screenings, NIFF will host two mornings of panels designed to connect the global filmmaking community with New York’s creative scene, along with curated spaces for networking and collaboration throughout the festival.

About the Nordic International Film Festival (NIFF) 2025
Founded in 2015, the Nordic International Film Festival (NIFF) is the largest Nordic film festival outside of Europe, based in New York City. NIFF is dedicated to connecting Nordic-style cinema with audiences in NYC while providing a launchpad for emerging Nordic and international filmmakers.

Past award-winning films such as Elskling (Norway, 2024), Bubble (Finland, 2023), and Yalla Parkour (Sweden/Qatar/Palestine, 2024) have gone on to screen at major international festivals and secure wide international distribution. These selections reflect NIFF’s commitment to showcasing authentic, thought-provoking, and globally resonant films from both Nordic and international storytellers.

Now in its 11th year, NIFF continues to celebrate films that invite audiences to pause, reflect, and connect through cinema–highlighting stories that are uniquely authentic, challenging, and inspiring. Please visit www.nordicfilmfest.org for more information.
