Saratoga Springs,, NY (November 20, 2020) — Kids, parents, grandparents, friends, and relatives near and far are invited to take part in Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery’s first online Make-a-Turkey-Out-of-a-Potato Festival!
The Tang tradition, now in its 18th year, aims to inspire intergenerational creativity for the holidays. For the first time, it is all happening online at http://tang.skidmore.edu.
Starting Saturday, November 21, the Tang Museum Education Team will present a video and downloadable instructions for four ways of making unique holiday decorations using a slew of materials you may have at home, such as construction paper, buttons, pipe cleaners, toothpicks, popsicle sticks—and even potatoes and other fruits and vegetables!
Visit https://tang.skidmore.edu/calendar/1331-18th-annual-make-a-turkey-out-of-a-potato-festival to watch the video, see a list of suggested materials, and download the instructions. Once you make your holiday creations, share them with us by sending images to Museum Educator Sunny Ra at sra@skidmore.edu or post them on your own social media accounts by including the hashtag #TangTeachingMuseum. Send your work in by November 29 for a chance for your creations to be shared on the Tang’s social media!
