LICM’s Ghostly GalaGarden City, NY – Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM) invites families to don their costumes and join in the fun at its annual Ghostly Gala on Saturday, October 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. This special after-hours event transforms the Museum into a not-so-spooky space filled with extraordinary activities designed to delight children and caregivers alike.

Ghostly Gala has become a cherished LICM tradition, providing families with an evening of safe, creative, and interactive Halloween fun. Guests will enjoy hands-on crafts, trick-or-treating opportunities, and live entertainment, all while exploring the Museum’s galleries after dark.

Highlights of the event include:

  • Show off your costumes and dance moves at a Monster Mash Dance Party.
  • Visit our Spooky Studio and meet mysterious underwater creatures.
  • Make some cool and creepy crafts.
  • Start your spooky night by decorating a bewitching trick-or-treat bag, then collect ghostly goodies from our roaming staff.
  • Special theater performances of Uncle Vlad's Pumpkin Patch: Under New Management at 6:15, 7, 7:45, and 8:30 p.m.

“Ghostly Gala is one of our favorite traditions at LICM,” says Aimee Terzulli, LICM Vice President for Program & Visitor Experience. “It’s an opportunity for families to experience the Museum in a new way – with costumes, music, and plenty of Halloween magic. We design the evening to be festive and fun for all ages without being frightening for our youngest visitors.”

Uncle Vlad's Pumpkin Patch - Under New Management, brings popular characters back for its fourth year of hijinks. Join Uncle Vlad, his nephew Chad, and their freakish friends as they battle the skeletal Mountain Boo Soda Company to save their Halloween home from corporate takeover.

Tickets: $16 ($14 LICM Members)
Theater Add-On: $5 with Ghostly Gala admission ($4 for members, $10 theater only) .

Advanced ticketing is strongly suggested for this popular event. Tickets may be purchased online at www.licm.org/ghostly or at the Museum box office.

About the Long Island Children’s Museum (www.licm.org)

The mission of Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM) is to connect all our communities’ children, and those who care for them, to a life of wonder, imagination and exploration. At LICM, children discover their passions and their relationship to the world we share. The 40,000-square-foot museum serves over 300,000 children and adults annually. The private, not-for-profit institution chartered by the New York State Board of Regents, offers museum-based educational programs and cultural experiences, as well as an extensive community outreach program offered in schools, libraries and youth centers across Long Island. Additionally, the Children’s Museum operates the historic Nunley’s Carousel in association with Nassau County, one of three intact Stein & Goldstein carousels still in existence.

Recognized with several honors, including the National Medal from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), LICM is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the gold standard of museum excellence. It is currently the only accredited children’s museum in New York State and is one of only 16 accredited children’s museums nationwide.
