Hudson Falls, N.Y. — Neal Herr knows money can’t buy him love, but watching “Ballet with the Beatles” inspired him to write about it. The result is “Zigzag,” a romantic comedy featuring 20 of Herr’s best relationship songs written throughout his 50-year career. The show opens May 6 for a three-day, four-performance run at The Strand Theater in Hudson Falls, New York.

Through song and dance, “Zigzag” tells the nuanced story of aging Cowboy and Butterfly, who look back on their young romance, which was complicated by Cowboy’s boss, Tender, and Butterfly’s abusive manager, Bruce.

I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event to improve and enhance New York’s state parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire state park system and its needs. Volunteers from across the state will participate in cleanup, improvement, and beautification events at New York State parks and historic sites. Volunteers will celebrate New York’s state park system by cleaning up park lands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitat, removing invasive species, and working on site improvement projects.

(4/20/22) — From spirited thoroughbreds to sturdy work horses and gentle cart ponies, Staatsburgh was an equine world.  On May 14, 15, and 21, at 10:00am, Staatsburgh staff will lead a walk for children and their families on the grounds of Staatsburgh and talk about the many roles that horses played on a Gilded Age estate. The staff will show historic photographs of horses on the estate, including photos of children riding at Staatsburgh over 100 years ago.
