Nitrate Picture Show - George Eastman MuseumPasses on sale now

Rochester, N.Y. (December 4, 2023) — The George Eastman Museum will present the 8th Nitrate Picture Show from May 30 to June 2, 2024 at the Dryden Theatre in Rochester, NY. The Nitrate Picture Show, the world’s festival of film conservation, will celebrate its ninth year with an extended lineup of rare nitrate prints on screen, workshops, and behind-the-scenes tours of the museum and its collection areas. Tours and presentations will be offered on the festival’s opening day of Thursday, May 30, along with a special screening of a past favorite that evening.

(September 13, 2023) – On Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8th, RetroGameCon, Upstate NY’s Video Game Expo returns to The Oncenter in downtown Syracuse for its 10-year anniversary event. RetroGameCon, the largest video game event in New York State, will once again be bringing famous voice actors, content creators, musical guests, and legends of the video game industry to downtown Syracuse for the weekend. The convention also features over 100 different exhibitors, including video game vendors, local artists and crafters, and independent game developers.

September 15, 2023—The Dryden Theatre at the George Eastman Museum will screen School Daze (Spike Lee, US 1988) on Sunday, September 17 at 2:30 p.m. The critically acclaimed film, directed by Spike Lee and starring Laurence Fishburne, Tisha Campbell, and Giancarlo Esposito, is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2023. This event is in partnership with the Greater Rochester Alumnae/Alumni Chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (GRAAC NPHPC) and a part of the organization’s Greek Week festivities.
